Change your email or notification settings

Where the settings live, what notifies you, and what deliberately does not.

Your email address and notification preferences live in your account settings on the portal. They are the vendor's settings on the vendor's account page — TOVIO does not hold a separate copy of them.

What you are notified about

Activity on posts you authored or upvoted: a clarifying question, and the status change to Shipped. Shipped is set by hand, one post at a time, with upvoter notification switched on and a message linking the changelog entry that proves it. This is the notification that matters, and it is the reason signing in is required to post or vote.

What you are deliberately not notified about

Intermediate status changes. A post moving to Planned, In progress, or Not planned does not notify upvoters. The two automated rules that set statuses from the engineering tracker have upvoter notification switched off; Planned is set by hand, without notifying. There is also no rule that fires when work merges, because merged is not released.

The reasoning: a stream of intermediate updates trains people to ignore the one that counts.

Product updates are separate

Subscription to product updates is opt-in and separate from notifications on your own posts. Unsubscribing from updates does not stop you being told when your post ships.

Changing your email

Update it in account settings. If you signed in with GitHub, Google, or Discord, the address comes from that provider and changes there.
